Return to the list of questions
Above the fold is a space which the user sees without the need to scroll down as soon as he/she goes to a web site. In other words, it is the part of a web sites that fits into a browser window the moment one enters a site. The term itself comes from the newspapers business, where newspapers have been sold folded, and the potential buyer saw only the upper part - the part above the fold.
